Ministry of Economic Affairs Organizes the "25th Startup Business Awards"
Purpose:
To create a quality entrepreneurial environment and shape Taiwan into an entrepreneurial society, the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Small and Medium Enterprise Administration organizes the "Startup Business Awards" selection event. This encourages innovation in startup companies across various industries, develops startups with quality business models, sets successful examples, boosts entrepreneurial spirit, and drives the domestic trend of innovation and entrepreneurship, injecting vitality into the economy.
Award Information:
This award is divided into three categories: "Technology Industry Group," "Innovative Traditional Industry Group," and "Innovative Service Group," with the principle of selecting 20 startups with quality business models.
Eligibility:
Establishment Date:
Enterprises established on or after June 1, 2018, based on the establishment date approved by the Department of Commerce of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (not the final approval change date), and meeting the SME recognition standards.
Eligibility Criteria:
Must be self-developed products, technologies, processes, or services (including technical services, knowledge services, business services) with market innovation, already commercialized in the market, and with proof of practical application or mass production (e.g., sales invoices, business contracts, transaction orders, customer data, etc.).
Registration Requirements: Branches of foreign companies established in Taiwan are not eligible.
Business Status: The previous year's (year 2025) revenue must not be zero, and relevant proof documents of commercialization or mass production of major products or services must be attached (e.g., sales invoices, business contracts, transaction orders, customer data, etc.).
Registration Period: April 1, 2026 (Wednesday) 10:00 to June 1, 2026 (Monday) 17:00.
Supplementary Document Deadline: Before noon on June 8, 2026 (Monday).
Application Method: All applications and submissions must be done online (Registration Link).
Selection Procedure:
1. Qualification Review
1. The Startup Business Awards working group will conduct a review of basic information. Missing documents must be completed within the supplementary document deadline.
2. Enterprises passing the "Qualification Review" will be grouped into "Technology Industry Group," "Innovative Traditional Industry Group," and "Innovative Service Group" for the review stage.
2. Preliminary Review
1. Verify if the enterprise has violated these regulations, made false statements, has labor disputes, or violated environmental and labor safety, intellectual property rights, etc. The Ministry of Economic Affairs' Small and Medium Enterprise Administration will contact relevant authorities for confirmation if necessary.
2. Each group committee will conduct a written review and select shortlisted enterprises (ranked by order) for on-site visits.
3. Final Review
1. Committee members will conduct on-site visits, where enterprises will present and provide an internal company tour, selecting shortlisted enterprises (ranked by order) for the final review.
2. The final review committee will select award-winning enterprises based on the principle of 20 companies.
