【2026 Baishatun Mazu Painting Competition Now Accepting Entries】
The Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage is not just a religious ritual, but a life journey about faith, companionship, and emotion. Along the way, devotees follow closely with each step, showcasing the most sincere human scenery and Taiwan's unique faith culture through sweat and perseverance.
To encourage young people to reinterpret Baishatun Mazu culture through artistic creation, the Miaoli County Government is organizing the "Baishatun Mazu Culture Painting Competition," inviting high school and vocational school students and young friends nationwide to depict touching moments in the pilgrimage culture from their own perspectives, allowing more people to see the warmth and power of Baishatun Mazu through their creations.
【Theme】
Create based on the Gongtian Temple in Baishatun, Miaoli County, the Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage activities, and related cultural aspects. Content can include Mazu images, pilgrimage scenes, interactions among devotees, or personal touching stories.
【Eligibility】
▸ High school and vocational school students nationwide
▸ Young people aged 18 to 35 (inclusive) nationwide
【Event Schedule】
▸ Submission period: May 13th, 115 to June 10th, 115
▸ Award announcement: June 22nd, 115, announced on the "Miaoli Good Youth - Labor and Youth Services Page" Facebook fan page
【Artwork Specifications】
▸ Artwork size: 4K (52cm × 38cm)
▸ Creation method: Hand-drawn or computer graphics are both acceptable
▸ Medium must be drawing paper, black and white or color is acceptable, but no 3D collage is allowed
▸ Each participant is limited to submitting one artwork
【Awards】
Both the high school group and the youth group have gold, silver, bronze, merit, and selected awards, with the highest prize being NT$20,000. Additionally, Baishatun Gongtian Temple provides special rewards such as Mazu statues, pink supercar sedan chairs, and socks with the word "courage."
