The Ministry of Economic Affairs SME and Startup Administration Organizes the "Potential Startup" Selection Event
Purpose:
To discover and nurture more high-quality potential startups in the seed or creation stage, the Ministry of Economic Affairs SME and Startup Administration (hereinafter referred to as "SMEA") is organizing the "Potential Startup Selection (Hi-Po Star)." Investment institutions, incubation centers, accelerators, and startup bases are invited to recommend applications. Through a two-stage consensus of 24 industry celebrities, the most innovative and growth-potential startups will be selected as a reference list for enterprises in entrepreneurial investment and business cooperation, connecting various government policy tools and private resources for nurturing.
Eligibility:
- Startups that meet the "SME Recognition Standards" (excluding branch offices and preparatory offices) and were established after May 1, 2021.
- Participation is based on recommendations; startups must be recommended by any investment institution, incubation center, accelerator, startup base, or government agency.
- Must have the capability and achievements in independently developing innovative technologies, products, or platforms.
- Startups that were previously selected as the final winners in the SMEA's "Potential Startup Selection (Hi-Po Star)" are not eligible.

Recommendation Procedure:
Investment institutions, incubation centers, accelerators, startup bases, or government agencies serve as recommending units. Based on the eligibility criteria, they recommend the most promising startups. Recommendations must be submitted using the form provided by the executing unit by April 10, 2026, and startups must complete online registration by April 30, 2026, and submit the required documents within the designated time.

Registration Period:From now until April 30, 2026, 23:59
Registration Method: Online registration is adopted. After completing the registration, the system will send a "Registration Confirmation Email," and no paper documents are required throughout the process.
