Taiwan Stream Conservation
Hualien boasts rich mountain forests and stream landscapes. However, in recent years, due to the impact of extreme weather and human interference, the maintenance of stream environments and water safety education have gradually become important local issues. The goal of Taiwan Stream Walk and Protection is to connect "outdoor education" with "environmental action." Initially, Taiwan Stream Walk and Protection only had canyoning coach Cai Renxian, who collaborated with Xiulin Junior High School to promote the "Clean Mountain Rappelling" activity. Through practical actions, students came to understand the preciousness and challenges of the natural environment. Later, Coach "Ah Xian" brought in environmental education teacher "Jimmy (Taiwan Rock Brother)" and water and outdoor activity coach "Lele" to jointly establish Taiwan Stream Walk and Protection Co., Ltd. During multiple actions, the team observed that rural schools have limited educational resources. Although students live in natural environments, they lack systematic opportunities to learn about ecology and water safety. At the same time, while community residents and enterprises are gradually paying attention to ESG and local sustainability, they lack specific participation models and quantitative data foundations. Therefore, this project focuses on "Educational Action × Sustainable Protection," extending the concept of "Clean Mountain Action" to "Taiwan Stream Walk and Protection," linking youth, schools, communities, and enterprises, allowing more people to start by entering streams to understand, record, and protect our land and water areas.
