"Youth Izakaya" uses the concept of an izakaya as a vehicle to open a space for pausing, listening, and gathering —— no tipsiness, but a true fermentation of land and youth.
More than a hundred youth action teams, like brewers, use different years, formulas, and patience to craft action brews unique to the locale. From the youthful first brews upon setting foot on the land to the robust aged brews from long-term cultivation, each flavor holds their stories and persistence.
With "streets," "paths," "alleys," and "lanes," the exhibition leads you into a local-flavored izakaya, where through stories, actions, and interactions, you slowly savor the taste of the place.
These streets and alleys also symbolize the connection clues between people and the land —— youth and locality, actors and audience, us and our future selves.
