Giving Tribes a Voice Through the Lens
USR FILM also promotes film education, designing courses that empower community members to record their elders and tribes using just a smartphone. At first, participants had to be motivated with prize money. Now, every course fills up immediately, and even schools and township offices have developed filming and editing skills, turning video into a shared language across communities.
In the summer of 2025, the studio co-hosted the “Eyes of the Tribe – Young Director Camp” with local associations, drawing the participation of 40 children from both tribes and cities. They learned how to write scripts, conduct interviews, and practice filming techniques, producing impressive results.
